Armentha Norris is known for being the first Frisco ISD School Health Coordinator as well as establishing the school health program and nursing system in 1978.
Due to her efforts the school health program created an immunization program, a record-keeping system, a school health policy manual, vision and hearing testing for students, and health rooms in each school. The program she created and led in the late 70s and 80s was the stepping stone of the current school health and nursing program in Frisco ISD.
In 2015, a local elementary school was named Norris Elementary to honor dedication of Mrs. Norris.
