Picture caption reads,"The new McKinney Memorial Public Library looks like a junk pile right now, but by next Monday every book is expected to be on the shelves and all will be in order for opening day, City Manager B.J. Cope reports. All books and furnishings have been moved from the old library to the new $200,000 structure at Anthony and Chestnut Streets. Library Ouita Pruitt and Mrs. Frances Morris, library worker, are busy putting books on the shelves in their proper places this week. Books may be taken to the new book drop on the west side of the new library."
