Judy Duvall Rucker graduated from McMurry University and began her teaching career in Abilene, Texas in 1953. She taught in San Angelo ISD from 1966 – 1984 and was voted Elementary Teacher of the Year in 1979. In 1984, she taught 3rd grade in Prosper ISD and graduated from Texas A&M Commerce in 1989 with a Master of Science degree along with Supervisory and Mid-Management certifications, serving as principal of Prosper Elementary School for 8 years.
In May 1998, Mrs. Rucker retired from Prosper ISD after 14 years of service along with a total of 32 years in education. She has continued to serve the Prosper community in her roles as facilitator for the Prosper Economic Development Council from 1998-2005 and facilitator for the Prosper Chamber of Commerce from 2005-2008.
October 11 has been named Judy Rucker Day in Prosper ISD to recognize the service of Mrs. Rucker.
