Homecoming Queen Roxa Penland, 1964
Dublin Core
Description
"During the halftime of the McKinney vs. Gainsville game, Senior Roxa Penland was crowned 1964 Homecoming Queen by John Hardin. Amid flagbearing Marquettes and the MHS Band playing 'Tonight,' the four nominees were escorted by their fathers from cars driven by young men chosen by the nominees and accompanied by members of the Student Council. Andy Cain presented the newly crowned queen a bouquet of roses as Queen Roxa and her father showed their happiness by a kiss. Queen Roxa then climaxed the evening's ceremonies with the victory ride around the stadium."
