"Lt. Comdr. H. R. Roberts, graduated from McKinney High School. Attended A. & M., U of Texas and N.T.S.T.C. Entered Navy, Feb. 1942 at Lt. Served on carrier Hornet until sunk. Transferred to the Atlantic theater and was in action in Africa, Sicily, Italy and Normandy. Wife, Capt. J. D. Roberts (WAC), McKinney."
