"S/Sgt. Grady C. Nixon, son of Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Nixon, wife, Mrs. Regina Nixon, attended Boyd High School, McKinney. Entered service Jan. 1939. Trained San Diego. Was at Pearl Harbor 1941. Returned to States and re-assigned to Pacific area in engineering department of Marines. Has three battle stars, Tarawa, Saipan, and Tinian."
