"Cpl. Henry L. Hand, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Hand, McKinney, attended Boyd High School. Entered service July, 1942 in Army Signal Corps. Received training at Camp Crowder, Mo. and Patterson Field, Dayton, Ohio. Went to the Southwest Pacific in July, 1943. Served in Australia, Dutch East Indies and New Guinea area."
