"S/Sgt. James L. Ashley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Ashley, McKinney. Attended McKinney High School. Entered service June, 1942. Trained at Sheppard Field, Sherman and Tampa, Fla. Went overseas June, 1943 to England. Made 65 missions. Came back to States July, 1944. Now stationed at Boca Raton, Fla. Served at Flight Engineer on B-26. Awarded the DFC, Air Medal with 11 Oak Leaf Clusters."
