"Son of Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Forsyth of McKinney. Was born June 7, 1890 and received his education in the schools of McKinney, later attending A. & M. College. In August, 1917, he entered the Second Officer's Training School at Fort Sheridan, Ill., where he was commissioned Second Lieutenant of Aviation Corps and sent to Kelly Field at San Antonio. From there he was sent to Boston Tech., then to Aviation Repair Depot at Dallas, where he was commissioned First Lieutenant. Was at A. R. D. when armistice was signed. Discharged April 15, 1919."
