"Sgt. Ervin and Earl Neely, twin sons of F. M. Neely of McKinney, were born June 28, 1894, in Collin County and attended schools there. They were both enlisted February 23, 1918, and were sent together to Camp Travis for training but were later transferred to Camp Gordon, Georgia. The people of McKinney got a petition to keep the twins together. They both received the same promotions, first to Corporal, then to Sergeant. They belonged to Company F, 2nd Replacement Regiment. Earl M. received discharge December 23, 1918, and Ervin F. received his twenty-eight days later."
