Description

Jimmy Geigas was the first McKinney boy to give his life on the battlefields of France for Freedom's Cause. He was killed on the battlefield September 20, 1918. This young patriot was born December 10, 1892. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Geigas, (deceased). Was reared in McKinney and for several years made his home with Mr. and Mrs. George McKinney. He entered training with the 59th Infantry at Camp Travis April 28, 1918, and was later sent to Camp Hempstead, N. Y. Was killed in action soon after reaching France. Jimmy was known and loved by almost every citizen in McKinney."
