"First Lieut. Earl Perry Love, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Love, McKinney, was born September 13, 1890, and received his early education in that city, later attending Kentucky Military Institute near Louisville, and Carnegie Tech., an electrical school at Pittsburgh, Pa. In December, 1917, he went to Officers' Training School at Camp Zachary Taylor, Kentucky, where he was commissioned First Lieutenant. He was stationed at Camp Jackson, South Carolina, as instructor in Motor School, and had been recommended for Captaincy two days before the armistice was signed."
