Pvt. George C. Simerly

"Pvt. George C. Simerly, who is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Simerly, of McKinney, enlisted April 28, 1918, and was assigned to Camp Travis for training. Was a member of Co. H, 359th Inf., 90th Division. Went overseas in July, 1918, and took part in the St. Mihiel battle, at which time he gassed and remained in the hospital for several months. Mr. Simerly is a native of Collin County and was born December 5, 1893. Received most of his education in the public schools of McKinney."
