Saloon Tour - The Rock Saloon

Dublin Core

Description

According to the Collin Chronicle Newspaper the first homicide in McKinney was in 1854 at the Rock Saloon. Joe Peak had been drinking a little too much. So the bartender called the Justice of the Peace, Alf Johnson. After Johnson arrived it is reported that Peak jammed his Bowie knife into the top of the bar and said, “Someone's going to die today---and it just might be Alf Johnson. With that declaration a shootout ensued resulting in the death of ---Joe Peak!
