Overview
On August 17-18, 2024, the McKinney Public Library System hosted its inaugural literary festival at the Roy and Helen Hall Memorial Library in Downtown McKinney. The staff at the McKinney Public Libraries identified a need in our literary community to support local authors, and what started as an idea to host a small gathering of local authors quickly evolved into a full-fledged literary fest.
During the event, we were able to spotlight over fifty local authors throug readings, table sales, workshops, and panel discussions. Attendance numbered at approximately four-hundred individuals across the two day festival.
