Description
Black and white photo of books packed in a box, used for a traveling library kit. "The Owl Club created traveling libraries similar to this in the early 1900s. There were eight different subjects with approximately 50 books in each traveling library with a six month lending period. Initially, they were very popular. The local schools found the traveling libraries helpful to expand the information on the given subjects. Due to demand, the lending periods had to be shortened to three months."
