"Cpl. Loren M. King, whose parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. C. King, reside at McKinney, was born February 6, 1892. He received his early education in the schools of McKinney and later finished his business education in Raleigh, North Carolina, Entering the service May 27, 1918 he was attached to Co. C, 136th Inf., 34th Division, and trained at Camp Cody, New Mexico. Sailed for France October 12, 1918, and upcon arrival there he was transferred to Co. K, 49th Inf., 83rd Division."
