Saloon Tour - Parlor Saloon

Dublin Core

Description

On April 3, 1890 the Democratic Newspaper (I don't believe there was a Republican Newspaper) reported a story of gunfire and near misses! Todd Warden and John Campbell had gotten into an argument for some unknown reason. Later in the day they both found themselves at the Parlor Saloon. Still not over the argument John pulled his pistol and fired it at Todd. But it misfired. Todd, being the bartender, reached down to get his pistol and in turn fired. What he didn't realize is that Sam Burks, the marshal, had walked in wearing similar clothes as John. The man Todd had just shot at was Sam! Luckily the shot missed. Todd and Sam were able to laugh it off---both very pleased at the outcome!
