"Queen Candidate -- Ruth Gonzalez, daughter of Mr and Mrs. Joe Gonzalez Sr., is 14 years of age and a freshman in McKinney High School. She was a winner in the recent talent contest held to select queen candidates for the Mexican Independence Day Fiesta here Sept. 16. Miss Gonzalez performed a modern dance routine."
